Champions Festival (World Championships 2022)Grading odds
PSA has graded 105 copies. Where they landed:
Why the verdict weights the odds
Only 10.5% of copies reach a 10, which is why the top price is the wrong number to plan around. Weighting each grade’s PSA price by these odds, a submission is worth $61.28£46.13€53.97 on average against $136.65£102.85€120.34 for the card plus $79.99£60.20€70.44 at Regular, the cheapest level PSA will insure it at. That loses $75.37£56.72€66.37, so a copy is worth more raw.

The Rillaboom (Prerelease) [Staff] on this page is the Holofoil printing from Sword & Shield Promo Cards, and it trades at $147.50£111.02€129.90 in near mint condition. Only one printing of this card was produced, so there is no cheaper version to confuse it with.
Graded, it runs PSA 7 $40.86£30.75€35.98, PSA 9 $66£49.67€58.12, CGC/BGS 9.5 $107.50£80.91€94.67, PSA 10 $249.99£188.15€220.16. PSA has graded 105 copies of it. 39 completed sales are on file.
What is a PSA 10 Rillaboom (Prerelease) [Staff] worth?
A PSA 10 Rillaboom (Prerelease) [Staff] from Sword & Shield Promo Cards sells for $249.99. 10.5% of the copies PSA has graded came back a 10, so that price is the best case rather than the one a submission should expect.
Is Rillaboom (Prerelease) [Staff] from Sword & Shield Promo Cards worth grading?
On the numbers, no. The average submission is worth $61.28 with every grade weighted by how often this card comes back at it, against $36.66 for a raw copy plus $99.99 to send it through PSA Regular, so it loses $75.37.
Condition does most of the work below the surface. A copy with soft corners or a print line off centre trades well under the market price shown here, and a copy clean enough to grade trades well above it, which is why the PSA 10 sits at $249.99£188.15€220.16. Before you value your own copy, look at the corners under a light and check the centring on the back, where most cards give themselves away.
