PokeValues is a Pokemon card price database run by one person. This page sets out what the site records, what an account stores, and what you can ask to have removed.

What the site records on its own

Page views are counted in Google Analytics, which sets cookies and receives your IP address, the page you are on, the site that sent you, and your browser and device type. You can block it with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or read Google's privacy policy. The server keeps ordinary access logs with IP addresses and user agents, to find errors and block abuse. Your chosen display currency is kept in your own browser.

Accounts

Browsing every price needs no account. Signing in is for the collection, portfolio and price alerts, and you can do it with Google or with a one-time link sent to your email address. We store your email address, and your name and avatar when Google supplies them, along with a session that keeps you signed in. We never receive your Google password. Sign-in links expire in ten minutes and work once.

What you put in your collection or portfolio, and any price alerts you set, are stored against your account so they are there on your next visit and on another device. They are yours: they are never sold, and they are not shared with the advertising partners below. A card you scan with the scanner is matched and then discarded.

Advertising

The advertising here is sold and served by NitroPay, which fills each slot through a number of advertising exchanges. NitroPay and those exchanges may set cookies or read device identifiers in order to choose an advertisement, limit how often you see the same one, and measure whether it was viewed. What they use includes your IP address and the rough location it implies, your browser and device, the pages you look at here, and identifiers set on earlier visits to this site or to others. They are not given your email address, your account or your collection. NitroPay describes its own handling in the NitroPay privacy policy.

You can limit personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings, YourAdChoices, the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out or, in Europe, Your Online Choices. These are stored per browser, so clearing cookies or switching browser means setting them again. Opting out does not remove the advertising, it makes it less relevant to you.

Your California privacy rights

If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to have it deleted, to have it corrected, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and to exercise any of those rights without being charged a different price or given a worse service.

In the last twelve months the site has collected identifiers (IP address, cookie and device identifiers, and for account holders an email address, name and avatar), internet activity (pages viewed, the referring site, browser and device details), and the interest categories advertising partners draw from that activity. All of it comes from you or your device, and identifiers and internet activity are disclosed to the analytics and advertising partners above.

We do not sell personal information for money. Passing information to advertising partners for interest-based advertising counts as a sale or share under California law, so the opt-out is provided: use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in the footer. It appears for visitors in California and records the choice for the browser you are using. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. To ask what we hold, or to have it deleted or corrected, email [email protected] from the address on your account; we respond within 45 days.

Visitors in the EU, the UK and Switzerland

You are asked for consent before any advertising or analytics cookie is set. The prompt is run by NitroPay through a consent management platform built on the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework, and it names the vendors and what each one does. You can change or withdraw consent at any time through the consent link in the footer; withdrawing it does not affect processing that already happened.

Where a legal basis is required, ours are consent for advertising and analytics cookies, performance of a contract for the account features you ask us to provide, and legitimate interest in keeping the site working and free of abuse. You have the rights above and may also complain to your national data protection authority.

Keeping and deleting data

Account data is kept while the account exists. Sessions expire on their own. Email [email protected] to have your account, collection, portfolio and alerts removed.

Children, changes and contact

The site is not aimed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect anything from them. Changes to this page are posted here with a new date at the top. For anything on this page, email [email protected].
