Champions Festival (World Championships 2022)Grading odds
PSA has graded 125 copies. Where they landed:
Why the verdict weights the odds
Only 30.4% of copies reach a 10, which is why the top price is the wrong number to plan around. Weighting each grade’s PSA price by these odds, a submission is worth $51.65£38.88€45.49 on average against $134.50£101.23€118.45 for the card plus $79.99£60.20€70.44 at Regular, the cheapest level PSA will insure it at. That loses $82.85£62.36€72.96, so a copy is worth more raw.
1 of the 3 grades priced above had no sales at that grade, so the figure is modelled from the grades that did rather than observed.

The Hydreigon (Prerelease) [Staff] on this page is the Holofoil printing from Sword & Shield Promo Cards, and it trades at $96.52£72.65€85 in near mint condition. Only one printing of this card was produced, so there is no cheaper version to confuse it with.
Graded, it runs PSA 9 $37£27.85€32.58, CGC/BGS 9.5 $41£30.86€36.11, PSA 10 $100£75.26€88.07. PSA has graded 125 copies of it. 33 completed sales are on file.
What is a PSA 10 Hydreigon (Prerelease) [Staff] worth?
A PSA 10 Hydreigon (Prerelease) [Staff] from Sword & Shield Promo Cards sells for $100. 30.4% of the copies PSA has graded came back a 10, so that price is the best case rather than the one a submission should expect.
Is Hydreigon (Prerelease) [Staff] from Sword & Shield Promo Cards worth grading?
On the numbers, no. The average submission is worth $51.65 with every grade weighted by how often this card comes back at it, against $34.51 for a raw copy plus $99.99 to send it through PSA Regular, so it loses $82.85.
Condition does most of the work below the surface. A copy with soft corners or a print line off centre trades well under the market price shown here, and a copy clean enough to grade trades well above it, which is why the PSA 10 sits at $100£75.26€88.07. Before you value your own copy, look at the corners under a light and check the centring on the back, where most cards give themselves away.
