PSA has graded 314 copies. Where they landed:
Why the verdict weights the odds
Only 22.9% of copies reach a 10, which is why the top price is the wrong number to plan around. Weighting each grade’s PSA price by these odds, a submission is worth $240.85£181.27€212.11 on average against $123.96£93.30€109.17 for the card plus $79.99£60.20€70.44 at Regular, the cheapest level PSA will insure it at. That clears $116.89£87.98€102.94, so grading a clean copy is worth the wait.

What moves the price of this card
The Cloyster (42) on this page is the Reverse Holofoil printing from Expedition, and it trades at $40.82£30.72€35.95 in near mint condition. The other 1 printing of the same card sits lower, which is normal: the scarcer print run always carries the premium.
Graded, it runs PSA 7 $59.95£45.12€52.80, PSA 8 $82.21£61.88€72.40, PSA 9 $90£67.74€79.26, CGC/BGS 9.5 $99£74.51€87.19, PSA 10 $800£602.12€704.54. PSA has graded 314 copies of it. 373 completed sales are on file.
What is a PSA 10 Cloyster (42) worth?
A PSA 10 Cloyster (42) from Expedition sells for $800. 9.2% of the copies PSA has graded came back a 10, so that price is the best case rather than the one a submission should expect.
Is Cloyster (42) from Expedition worth grading?
On the numbers, yes. The average submission is worth $136.65 with every grade weighted by how often this card comes back at it, against $23.97 for a raw copy plus $99.99 to send it through PSA Regular, so it clears $12.69.
Condition does most of the work below the surface. A copy with soft corners or a print line off centre trades well under the market price shown here, and a copy clean enough to grade trades well above it, which is why the PSA 10 sits at $800£602.12€704.54. Before you value your own copy, look at the corners under a light and check the centring on the back, where most cards give themselves away.
