Illustration Rare Pokemon cards.

The 400 most valuable Illustration Rare cards we price, highest first. Prices are what copies actually sold for on TCGplayer, not what sellers are asking.
What an Illustration Rare card is worth
The most valuable one we price is Magikarp from Paldea Evolved at $367.06£276.27€323.26. The 517 cards across 24 sets come to $9.4k£7.1k€8.3k together, and the median card at this rarity is $11.14£8.38€9.81, so half of everything printed with the label trades below that. The ten at the top hold 14.5% of the total on their own, which is the normal shape here: the label sets the print run, the Pokemon on the card sets the price.
How to spot an Illustration Rare
A scene rather than a portrait, with the artwork running to the card edge and no frame around it. None of the illustration rares we price are ex cards: they are ordinary Pokemon given a full illustration, which is what separates them from the special illustration rares. Every one of the 515 we price that carries a number out of a set total is numbered past it, so checking the number against the total after the slash identifies one on its own.
Every other rarity is on the rarity chart, and the rarest cards list ranks the chase tiers against each other by price.
