Pikachu EX

What PSA copies sold for in the UK

Completed eBay UK sales, in pounds, where the listing recorded the grader and the grade. The graders are not interchangeable here: across 154 cards with both, an Ace 10 sells for about 60% of a PSA 10, and an Ace 9 for about 80% of a PSA 9. The count beside each price is how many sales it is a median of.

What moves the price of this card

The Pikachu EX on this page is the only printing from Japanese Expansion Pack 20th Anniversary, and it trades at no recorded price in near mint condition. Only one printing of this card was produced, so there is no cheaper version to confuse it with.

Graded, it runs PSA 7 $604£450.38€540.30, PSA 8 $755£562.98€675.37, PSA 9 $2,113£1,575€1,890, CGC/BGS 9.5 $2,324£1,733€2,079, PSA 10 $6,865£5,119€6,141. PSA has graded 3,000 copies of it. 998 completed sales are on file.

What is a PSA 10 Pikachu EX worth?

A PSA 10 Pikachu EX from Japanese Expansion Pack 20th Anniversary sells for $6,865. 63.6% of the copies PSA has graded came back a 10, so that price is the best case rather than the one a submission should expect.

Is Pikachu EX from Japanese Expansion Pack 20th Anniversary worth grading?

On the numbers, yes. The average submission is worth $4,987 with every grade weighted by how often this card comes back at it, against $1,175 for a raw copy plus $619 to send it through PSA Walk-Through, so it clears $3,193.

Condition does most of the work below the surface. A copy with soft corners or a print line off centre trades well under the market price shown here, and a copy clean enough to grade trades well above it, which is why the PSA 10 sits at $6,865£5,119€6,141. Before you value your own copy, look at the corners under a light and check the centring on the back, where most cards give themselves away.
