Machamp

What PSA copies sold for in the UK

Completed eBay UK sales, in pounds, where the listing recorded the grader and the grade. The graders are not interchangeable here: across 154 cards with both, an Ace 10 sells for about 60% of a PSA 10, and an Ace 9 for about 80% of a PSA 9. The count beside each price is how many sales it is a median of.

What moves the price of this card

The Machamp on this page is the 1st Edition Holofoil printing from Japanese Base Expansion Pack, and it trades at $20£14.81€17.75 in near mint condition. Only one printing of this card was produced, so there is no cheaper version to confuse it with.

Graded, it runs PSA 7 $35.70£26.44€31.69, PSA 8 $100.72£74.61€89.39, PSA 9 $200£148.15€177.51, CGC/BGS 9.5 $220£162.96€195.26, PSA 10 $651£482.23€577.79. PSA has graded 885 copies of it. 478 completed sales are on file.

What is a PSA 10 Machamp worth?

A PSA 10 Machamp from Japanese Base Expansion Pack sells for $651. 57.9% of the copies PSA has graded came back a 10, so that price is the best case rather than the one a submission should expect.

Is Machamp from Japanese Base Expansion Pack worth grading?

On the numbers, yes. The average submission is worth $440.31 with every grade weighted by how often this card comes back at it, against $62.43 for a raw copy plus $99.99 to send it through PSA Regular, so it clears $277.89.

Condition does most of the work below the surface. A copy with soft corners or a print line off centre trades well under the market price shown here, and a copy clean enough to grade trades well above it, which is why the PSA 10 sits at $651£482.23€577.79. Before you value your own copy, look at the corners under a light and check the centring on the back, where most cards give themselves away.
