Why the verdict weights the odds
Only 0.7% of copies reach a 10, which is why the top price is the wrong number to plan around. Weighting each grade’s PSA price by these odds, a submission is worth $31.79£23.93€28 on average against $123.65£93.06€108.89 for the card plus $79.99£60.20€70.44 at Regular, the cheapest level PSA will insure it at. That loses $91.86£69.13€80.89, so a copy is worth more raw.

What moves the price of this card
The M Aerodactyl EX on this page is the Holofoil printing from XY Promos, and it trades at $23.66£17.81€20.84 in near mint condition. Only one printing of this card was produced, so there is no cheaper version to confuse it with.
Graded, it runs PSA 5 $24.50£18.44€21.58, PSA 6 $35£26.34€30.82, PSA 8 $112.25£84.48€98.86. PSA has graded 285 copies of it. 284 completed sales are on file.
Condition does most of the work below the surface. A copy with soft corners or a print line off centre trades well under the market price shown here, and a copy clean enough to grade trades well above it. Before you value your own copy, look at the corners under a light and check the centring on the back, where most cards give themselves away.
