Jolteon

What moves the price of this card

The Jolteon on this page is the Reverse Holofoil printing from Dark Explorers, and it trades at $30.41£22.89€26.78 in near mint condition. The other 1 printing of the same card sits lower, which is normal: the scarcer print run always carries the premium.

Graded, it runs PSA 7 $16£12.04€14.09, PSA 8 $60.50£45.54€53.28, PSA 9 $67£50.43€59, CGC/BGS 9.5 $74£55.70€65.17, PSA 10 $333.91£251.32€294.06. PSA has graded 27 copies of it. 118 completed sales are on file.

What is a PSA 10 Jolteon worth?

A PSA 10 Jolteon from Dark Explorers sells for $333.91. 7.4% of the copies PSA has graded came back a 10, so that price is the best case rather than the one a submission should expect.

Is Jolteon from Dark Explorers worth grading?

On the numbers, no. The average submission is worth $67.05 with every grade weighted by how often this card comes back at it, against $25.83 for a raw copy plus $99.99 to send it through PSA Regular, so it loses $58.77.

Condition does most of the work below the surface. A copy with soft corners or a print line off centre trades well under the market price shown here, and a copy clean enough to grade trades well above it, which is why the PSA 10 sits at $333.91£251.32€294.06. Before you value your own copy, look at the corners under a light and check the centring on the back, where most cards give themselves away.
