PSA has graded 295 copies. Where they landed:
Why the verdict weights the odds
Only 19.0% of copies reach a 10, which is why the top price is the wrong number to plan around. Weighting each grade’s PSA price by these odds, a submission is worth $463.47£348.83€408.16 on average against $215.37£162.10€189.67 for the card plus $149£112.14€131.22 at Express, the cheapest level PSA will insure it at. That clears $248.10£186.73€218.49, so grading a clean copy is worth the wait.
1 of the 5 grades priced above had no sales at that grade, so the figure is modelled from the grades that did rather than observed.

What moves the price of this card
The Dark Pupitar on this page is the Reverse Holofoil printing from EX Team Rocket Returns, and it trades at $79.94£60.17€70.40 in near mint condition. The other 1 printing of the same card sits lower, which is normal: the scarcer print run always carries the premium.
Graded, it runs PSA 7 $27.61£20.78€24.32, PSA 8 $49.44£37.21€43.54, PSA 9 $151.32£113.89€133.26, CGC/BGS 9.5 $166£124.94€146.19, PSA 10 $1,995£1,502€1,757. PSA has graded 295 copies of it. 395 completed sales are on file.
What is a PSA 10 Dark Pupitar worth?
A PSA 10 Dark Pupitar from EX Team Rocket Returns sells for $1,995. 8.4% of the copies PSA has graded came back a 10, so that price is the best case rather than the one a submission should expect.
Is Dark Pupitar from EX Team Rocket Returns worth grading?
On the numbers, yes. The average submission is worth $269.22 with every grade weighted by how often this card comes back at it, against $46.37 for a raw copy plus $169 to send it through PSA Express, so it clears $53.85.
Condition does most of the work below the surface. A copy with soft corners or a print line off centre trades well under the market price shown here, and a copy clean enough to grade trades well above it, which is why the PSA 10 sits at $1,995£1,502€1,757. Before you value your own copy, look at the corners under a light and check the centring on the back, where most cards give themselves away.
