PSA has graded 844 copies. Where they landed:
Why the verdict weights the odds
Only 6.4% of copies reach a 10, which is why the top price is the wrong number to plan around. Weighting each grade’s PSA price by these odds, a submission is worth $748.14£563.08€658.86 on average against $720.57£542.33€634.58 for the card plus $599£450.84€527.52 at Walk-Through, the cheapest level PSA will insure it at. That clears $27.57£20.75€24.28, so grading a clean copy is worth the wait.

What moves the price of this card
The Dark Ampharos on this page is the Reverse Holofoil printing from EX Team Rocket Returns, and it trades at $144.14£108.49€126.94 in near mint condition. The other 1 printing of the same card sits lower, which is normal: the scarcer print run always carries the premium.
Graded, it runs PSA 6 $63.50£47.79€55.92, PSA 7 $200£150.53€176.13, PSA 8 $345£259.66€303.83, PSA 9 $437.62£329.37€385.40, CGC/BGS 9.5 $481£362.02€423.60, PSA 10 $7,000£5,269€6,165. PSA has graded 844 copies of it. 670 completed sales are on file.
What is a PSA 10 Dark Ampharos worth?
A PSA 10 Dark Ampharos from EX Team Rocket Returns sells for $7,000. 5.0% of the copies PSA has graded came back a 10, so that price is the best case rather than the one a submission should expect.
Is Dark Ampharos from EX Team Rocket Returns worth grading?
On the numbers, no. The average submission is worth $650.71 with every grade weighted by how often this card comes back at it, against $101.57 for a raw copy plus $619 to send it through PSA Walk-Through, so it loses $69.86.
Condition does most of the work below the surface. A copy with soft corners or a print line off centre trades well under the market price shown here, and a copy clean enough to grade trades well above it, which is why the PSA 10 sits at $7,000£5,269€6,165. Before you value your own copy, look at the corners under a light and check the centring on the back, where most cards give themselves away.
