PSA 610.3%
Why the verdict weights the odds
Only 91.4% of copies reach a 10, which is why the top price is the wrong number to plan around. Weighting each grade’s PSA price by these odds, a submission is worth $122.76£90.93€108.95 on average against $103.81£76.90€92.14 for the card plus $79.99£59.25€70.99 at Regular, the cheapest level PSA will insure it at. That clears $18.95£14.03€16.82, so grading a clean copy is worth the wait.

What moves the price of this card
The Chien-Pao ex on this page is the Holofoil printing from Japanese Snow Hazard, and it trades at $2.20£1.63€1.95 in near mint condition. Only one printing of this card was produced, so there is no cheaper version to confuse it with.
Graded, it runs PSA 8 $7.64£5.66€6.78, PSA 9 $105£77.78€93.19, CGC/BGS 9.5 $116£85.93€102.96, PSA 10 $126£93.33€111.83. PSA has graded 359 copies of it. 151 completed sales are on file.
What is a PSA 10 Chien-Pao ex worth?
A PSA 10 Chien-Pao ex from Japanese Snow Hazard sells for $126. 91.4% of the copies PSA has graded came back a 10, so that price is the best case rather than the one a submission should expect.
Is Chien-Pao ex from Japanese Snow Hazard worth grading?
On the numbers, yes. The average submission is worth $123.45 with every grade weighted by how often this card comes back at it, against $3.82 for a raw copy plus $99.99 to send it through PSA Regular, so it clears $19.64.
Condition does most of the work below the surface. A copy with soft corners or a print line off centre trades well under the market price shown here, and a copy clean enough to grade trades well above it, which is why the PSA 10 sits at $126£93.33€111.83. Before you value your own copy, look at the corners under a light and check the centring on the back, where most cards give themselves away.
