What Ace copies sold for in the UK

Completed eBay UK sales, in pounds, where the listing recorded the grader and the grade. The graders are not interchangeable here: across 154 cards with both, an Ace 10 sells for about 60% of a PSA 10, and an Ace 9 for about 80% of a PSA 9. The count beside each price is how many sales it is a median of.

What moves the price of this card

The Charizard on this page is the Holofoil printing from 30th Celebration Classic Collection, and it trades at $149.63£111.57€133.85 in near mint condition. Only one printing of this card was produced, so there is no cheaper version to confuse it with.

Graded, it runs PSA 9 $290£216.24€259.41, CGC/BGS 9.5 $403£300.50€360.50, PSA 10 $1,500£1,119€1,342. PSA has graded 6 copies of it. 1,349 completed sales are on file.

Condition does most of the work below the surface. A copy with soft corners or a print line off centre trades well under the market price shown here, and a copy clean enough to grade trades well above it, which is why the PSA 10 sits at $1,500£1,119€1,342. Before you value your own copy, look at the corners under a light and check the centring on the back, where most cards give themselves away.
