What Ace copies sold for in the UK

Completed eBay UK sales, in pounds, where the listing recorded the grader and the grade. The graders are not interchangeable here: across 154 cards with both, an Ace 10 sells for about 60% of a PSA 10, and an Ace 9 for about 80% of a PSA 9. The count beside each price is how many sales it is a median of.

What moves the price of this card

The Canari on this page is the Holofoil printing from Japanese High Class Pack: MEGA Dream ex, and it trades at $14.19£10.58€12.69 in near mint condition. Only one printing of this card was produced, so there is no cheaper version to confuse it with.

Graded, it runs PSA 8 $28£20.88€25.05, PSA 9 $31£23.12€27.73, CGC/BGS 9.5 $50.69£37.80€45.34, PSA 10 $64£47.72€57.25. PSA has graded 9,886 copies of it. 537 completed sales are on file.

What is a PSA 10 Canari worth?

A PSA 10 Canari from Japanese High Class Pack: MEGA Dream ex sells for $64. 62.2% of the copies PSA has graded came back a 10, so that price is the best case rather than the one a submission should expect.

Is Canari from Japanese High Class Pack: MEGA Dream ex worth grading?

On the numbers, no. The average submission is worth $51.38 with every grade weighted by how often this card comes back at it, against $23.99 for a raw copy plus $99.99 to send it through PSA Regular, so it loses $72.60.

Condition does most of the work below the surface. A copy with soft corners or a print line off centre trades well under the market price shown here, and a copy clean enough to grade trades well above it, which is why the PSA 10 sits at $64£47.72€57.25. Before you value your own copy, look at the corners under a light and check the centring on the back, where most cards give themselves away.
